Every idea we've helped bring into the world.

Costanera Norte · Buenos Aires · 2018
On the banks of the Río de la Plata, next to Ciudad Universitaria, lies a 14-hectare park designed not for leisure, but for remembrance. Parque de la Memoria was established in 1998 by a law passed by the Buenos Aires City Legislature, driven by human rights organizations alongside the University of Buenos Aires and the City government. At its center, the Monument to the Victims of State Terrorism bears the names of the disappeared and murdered across four walls. Facing them, the river stands as a silent witness. In June 2018, marking the 40th anniversary of the '78 World Cup, the park opened "Tiren papelitos" ("Throw Confetti"): The '78 World Cup Between Celebration and Horror. The exhibition brought together archives, testimonies, and works by contemporary artists to revisit an irreconcilable contradiction: a country celebrating its first World Cup while, just blocks from the stadiums, clandestine detention centers were in operation. For opening night on Friday, June 15, we produced a 3D video mapping projection onto the facade of the park's entrance pavilion. The show ran four times, every fifteen minutes, as visitors arrived. Throughout those minutes, the architecture served as a canvas for memory—a way to speak those names once more, to illuminate what must never be forgotten, in a place built so it never happens again.
