Hotel Guaminí Misión · Puerto Iguazú, Misiones
On the banks of the Paraná River, just a few kilometers from the Falls, stands a hotel that doesn't merely copy a style—it reconstructs a world. Guaminí Misión takes its inspiration from the 17th-century Jesuit reduction missions built across present-day Argentina, Brazil, and Paraguay, with a special nod to San Ignacio. Its walls, courtyards, and gardens evoke those historic towns where two cultures met and reshaped one another. At the heart of the complex lies its Interpretation Center, opened in 2014. It tells the story of that encounter: how people lived, worked, created, and worshipped within the missions. The tour unfolds scene by scene. In Arts and Crafts, animated dioramas paired with audiovisual elements bring woodworking, stonemasonry, and musical workshops to life. In Daily Life, the mission comes alive with its daily routines and characters. And in the immersive room—the Center's centerpiece—visitors are surrounded by the Misiones rainforest, fully enveloping them until they forget they are indoors. It is a museum inside a hotel, crafted for travelers arriving in Iguazú and local schoolchildren alike: a gateway to the heritage that gave Misiones its name. Our role: audiovisual design and installation across four areas of the Center, along with a recent technology upgrade for its immersive room to boost performance, energy efficiency, and reliability.
